Navigate Latin American shipping with our guide to Bill of Lading requirements in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, and more. Avoid delays and ensure compliance.

It should be noted thatSome Central and South American countries such as Brazil,Nicaragua,Guatemala,Honduras,El Salvador,Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, and Venezuela are countries where goods can be released without a bill of lading. In these countries, once the goods are unloaded from the ship onto the dock, the property rights of the goods already belong to the consignee. The consignee can declare and pick up the goods from the customs without obtaining a D/O from the shipping company. When shipping goods to these countries, the shipper must be reminded in advance that the bill of lading cannot control the property rights of the goods.
