The import of yerba mate into China needs to go through the following main steps:

1.Registration of Overseas Production Enterprises: Overseas production enterprises of imported yerba mate need to be registered with relevant Chinese departments.

2.Filing of Exporters or Agents: Overseas exporters or agents and domestic consignees need to be filed with the Chinese customs.

3.Import Declaration: Enterprises need to declare imports to the customs and provide relevant certificates and trade documents.

Enterprise Qualifications and Necessary Documents

Packaging Labeling: The registered number in China or the registered number approved by the competent authority of the country (region) where it is located should be labeled on the inner and outer packaging of imported yerba mate.

Phytosanitary Certificate: A certificate issued by the competent department of the government of the exporting country or region to prove that the product meets phytosanitary requirements.

Certificate of Origin and Trade Documents: Such as contracts,invoices,packing lists,bills of lading,etc.

Product Label: For yerba mate labeled as "organic," a copy of the Chinese Organic Product Certification must be provided.

Customs Inspection,Quarantine and Conformity Assessment

Document Review: The customs conducts a compliance review of the submitted quarantine certificates and trade documents.

On - site Inspection and Sampling: According to the needs of supervision and management,the customs conducts on - site inspections and supervised sampling of imported yerba mate.

Conformity Assessment: Only yerba mate that has passed the conformity assessment of the customs is allowed to be imported.For unqualified products,the importer shall be notified in writing by the customs and ordered to destroy or return the goods.Products that are unqualified in terms of safety,health,and environmental protection projects receive particular attention.
