Colombia launched an anti-dumping probe into Chinese aluminum extrusions on Dec 14, 2023. Discover the products involved and response deadlines for stakeholders.

On December 14,2023,the Ministry of Commerce,Industry and Tourism of Colombia issued an important announcement in its official daily newspaper.According to Announcement No.319 of December 13,2023,at the request of domestic enterprises ALUMINA S.A.and ALUICA S.A.S,the Colombian government officially launched an anti - dumping investigation into aluminum extrusions (Spanish: perfiles extruidos de aluminio) originating from China.The launch of this investigation marks a crucial step for Colombia in protecting domestic industries and promoting fair trade.

The tariff numbers of the aluminum extrusion products involved in the case in Colombia are 7604.21.00.00,7604.29.10.00,7604.29.20.00 and 7608.20.00.00 respectively.These products hold an important position in the Colombian market,and the initiation of this anti - dumping investigation shows the determination of the Colombian government to protect the domestic aluminum industry.

According to the announcement,interested parties need to register for response within 30 working days from the date of the announcement.In addition,they also need to submit case review opinions and evidence materials.This step is crucial for the fairness and transparency of the investigation,ensuring that all relevant parties have the opportunity to express their views and provide relevant information.
